Three newsletters ago I introduced myself to you as the curator of Jalada. It has been a wonderful few months and I am now writing longer pieces on our blog.
We find ourselves living in incredibly difficult times, weighed down by loss of innocent lives during the Kenya Protests of 2024/2025. Losing lives is akin to losing our future, our collective dreams, our country. It is sad. As we fight for our rights and dignified living, I pray that the cost does not continue to be our lives and that of our kids. May all our country people who have died during the Maandamano find peace in the afterlife, and may we get a better Kenya.
It is a paradox that death looms over us, yet we continue doing life and showing up for what’s important to our life process. Don't lose hope!

Our higher education challenges notwithstanding, do you think Africa’s education system is unfairly ranked? Chat with me on nyarinda@edtech-eastafrica.com.
